So everyone’s favorite halfling from Game of Thrones has scored himself a lead role in the upcoming X-Men sequel Days of Future Past! Bryan Singer confirmed this exciting news that Peter Dinklage would be joing the cast via his Twitter:

Word has it that Dinklage will be playing the main villain, no word on the exact character as of yet but sites are speculating a wide range of guesses from Mr. Sinister (the more obscure), to Boliver Trask (the more likely). Trask is responsible for the creation of the Sentinels.
Also on the DOFP front, Bryan Singer wants us to all understand what he is creating here. As we have all experienced in the past with these films is that they are a departure of what we are used to or sometimes grown to love about the comics. But I think as we experienced with First Class, sometimes the product we get can far exceed our expectations and we have to suspend our ridgedness with the storyline and characters. Here’s what Singer had to say to Hit Fix in a recent interview, hit the jump to check out the video!
“This movie’s gonna be not only quite epic, ‘Days of Future Past,’ but it also takes place in completely different times than the ‘X-Men’ movies have taken place. There’ll be new technology, new things we haven’t seen before in ‘X-Men’ films. Certain characters and certain story and certain drama that hasn’t be done yet, so it’s not so much sequel. It’s more of its own kinda thing.”
