If there’s one thing that I can expect to come out of Marc Webb‘s upcoming Amazing Spider-Man 2 film, it’s the unexpected. Let’s take all of the villains for this film. We know for a fact that Jamie Foxx will be playing Electro, and that Paul Giamatti will be Rhino; but then there’s all the others. Harry Osbourne (Dane Dehaan) is in the movie, which means we’ll have to see his father, but not necessarily as The Green Goblin. Curt Connors never died, Colm Feore will be Adrian Toomes who goes on to be the Vulture. On top of all those names, we also get hints from Webb that The Sinister Six may be the way the franchise is going.
So, ok, that’s a lot of Spider-Man’s Rogue’s Gallery; and honestly I’m ok with that. Today, we get hints that Webb may have just started on his roster of potential villains. You’d better know them as, Hobgoblin, She-Venom, and Hydro-Man. Check out the article below.

A trial date has been set in the New York Appellate Court for alleged bio-terrorist Dr. Curt Connors. The former Oscorp biogenetics scientist has been indicted on twenty city and state counts, including trespassing, malicious destruction of property, theft of private property, aggravated assault, and using a weapon of mass destruction. Connors has pleaded “not guilty” to all counts. It is expected his defense attorney, Anne Weying, will claim Connors was not responsible for the actions of his genetically transformed alter ego, the Lizard.
Connors claimed that pressure placed on him by his employer, Oscorp, led him to rush his bio-restorative formula and test it on himself. He further stipulated to the grand jury that his decision to use the untested compound was made in an effort to protect the company from experimenting on innocent civilians, as directed by his superiors. Connors’ immediate supervisor at Oscorp, Dr. Rajit Ratha, has been missing since the day before the Lizard’s attack.
Oscorp spokesman, Donald Menken, responded, “We can’t corroborate or deny Dr. Connor’s claims. Dr. Ratha’s abrupt departure from Oscorp has left us with far more questions than answers. Needless to say, Oscorp has always complied with the most stringent local, state and federal regulations for all of our research and development.”

Does this mean that everyone will be showing up in the new film? No, but maybe eventually these villains will show up later on in the series. I doubt that She-Venom would have a role before we see The Lethal Protector himself, Eddie Brock.

Er… well… Leeds actually turned out to not be the Hobgoblin. Roger Stern, the writer who developed that Hobgoblin story, had always meant for the Hobgoblin to be Roderick Kingsley but quit the book, disgusted with the EIC, at the time, Jim Shooter (who was notorious for such things happening on his watch). He had meant to reveal this and had meant Ned Leeds as a patsy, who Roderick had assassinated after drugging and dressing in his Hobgoblin uniform when Stern was able to return to the story in 2012… three decades after starting the story.
Incidentally, the Leeds reveal was done by a little known writer and is considered a famous “hack job.” However, that writer would go on to be famous (and a little infamous) when working on the Incredible Hulk – one Peter David.
