It was bound to happen, maybe because every other episode has been top notch, but this weeks episode Muse of Fire was just not that entertaining. Predictable at best, I do enjoy the inclusion of Huntress into the Arrow mythos, and I think it is a good plot point of making her a romantic interest and someone that Ollie can share his secret with and eventually partner up with. Basically this episode deals with Helena’s quest to bring down her own family who was responsible for the murder of her fiance, yet ultimately she was responsible for, blah blah blah. What didn’t make much sense to me was how Ollie was so judgmental of her mission of revenge after all the lives that he has been taking week after week. I mean all of a sudden Ollie is the shining example of vigilantism?! Whatevs. We will see if next weeks episode evens this all out…
Jessica De Gouw has a little insight into her role as the Huntress:
“There are hints of purple in most things, just a little dab here and there. Just to suggest the right things. But it’s definitely part of the costumes It’s challenging for me because I play Helena and the Huntress and I have to be able to hold my own regarding the duality of the role. I have to be able to kick butt and all of that.There’s something very similar about them. And I think that’s where the attraction comes from. They find something they can relate to and appreciate. And I don’t think the rest of the world necessarily gets it all the time. It’s just sort of an instant recognition maybe… of something pretty cool.I went back to the comics. I think the comics are the best place to start. That’s where it originated. That’s what the fans want to see. That’s what I wanted to go for. I don’t think it helps to impersonate someone else who’s already done it perhaps. Because this isn’t like anything else. It looks different and it feels different. And it’s a different tone. She’s pretty ruthless. She’s certainly not as controlled as she possibly could be. I mean, she’s a vigilante of sorts and in her own head she justifies the choices she makes. It’s born out of the relationship with her family and her father and rectifying the wrongs that were done there. So that’s where it all comes from.”

Zap2It is reporting that True Blood star Janina Gavankar will be joining the cast as a reoccurring police officer who is described as “a vice cop with the Starling City Police Department. Tough, sexy, and considerably formidable, McKenna has a complicated history with Oliver”. Looking forward to this one!
David Anders (Alias) is set to pay a visit to Starling City in episode 13 of Arrow as Cyrus Vanch. According to Zap2it, “Vanch is a ruthless career criminal who is released from prison after a long stint. Laurel is particularly invested in taking Vanch down. When she discovers that the police can’t get him off the streets, she turns to the Arrow for help. Unfortunately, the cunning Vanch is one step ahead of them — he’s looking to take control of Starling City’s criminal underworld, and in order to prove himself to the lowlifes, he’s got a mind to eliminate the man criminals fear most.”
Who is this Dark Archer??!! Is it Merlyn?? I am now intrigued to know if the character Merlyn does show up on the show who will it be now that we know the identity of Tommy’s father!! Here are some photos and the synopsis from the mid-season finale of Arrow:
IT’S CHRISTMAS TIME AT THE QUEEN HOUSEHOLD — Oliver (Stephen Amell) discovers that after he and his father went missing, Moira (Susanna Thompson) and Thea (Willa Holland) stopped celebrating Christmas. Determined to make up for lost time and restore a sense of normalcy to the Queen household, Oliver decides to throw the family a Christmas party. Meanwhile, Tommy (Colin Donnell) asks Laurel (Katie Cassidy) to spend Christmas with him but she points out that Christmas was also her sister Sara’s birthday and she needs to be with her father (Paul Blackthorne). Tommy suggests changing things up might be the best way for everyone to heal but Laurel isn’t sure her father is ready for that. Meanwhile, Diggle (David Ramsey) tells Oliver someone is murdering the people on his father’s list with arrows, which sends Oliver off to face his toughest adversary yet.
