It was implied that we’d be seeing Sam Worthington and Zoe Saldana reprise their roles in the Avatar sequels, but today we have the official word. The James Cameron films will be shot back-to-back; and though the plot is being kept under wraps, we can guess that we’ll probably be seeing the offspring of Jake Sully and Neytiri.
Other than those two, we know that Stephen Lang is coming back…seemingly from the dead. The film is all taking place in New Zealand, with some pickup shots probably in the ocean where Cameron keeps an Atalantis-type palace. When we get more news on the Avatar sequels, we’ll keep you posted here at DFAT!
Director James Cameron is writing the film along with Josh Friedman, Rick Jaffa & Amanda Silver, and Shane Salerno. Avatar begins filming this October, with the films coming out 2016, 2017, and 2018.
