I missed the first time that Back in Time went up on Kickstarter, but I won’t make that mistake the second go around. The documentary is taking interviews with most of the cast members, makers, and super fans of Back to the Future and bringing it to us as a feature-length documentary! It started out with a simple interview with Christopher Lloyd, that ballooned to so much more. Filmmaker Jason Aron how has interviews with not only Lloyd, but has spoken to Robert Zemeckis, Michael J. Fox, Lea Thompson, Bob Gale, Alan Silvestri, superfans including Community creator Dan Harmon, The Goldbergs creator Adam Goldberg and more. The list goes on and on.
With the film getting much bigger than anyone would have anticipated, it needs more money to get it’s release date this Fall. Aron is going back to crowdfunding to reach his goal and get this ambitious film made. Aron has been lucky enough to partner up with Malka Media Group and Patchwork Media to premiere the film in Hollywood, California on October 21st, 2015 as a part of the We’re Going Back fanfest honoring the 30th anniversary of Back to the Future. The film will release digitally and on Bluray/DVD on or shortly after October 22nd, and will be available for preorder via a Kickstarter campaign beginning March 9th.
