It wasn’t going to take much to convince me to see the newest Neill Blomkamp film, Chappie. The first trailer was engaging enough that I was in for the science fiction ride. Then, this newest trailer dropped and got me EXTREMELY excited to see this movie. It looks like a mix between Terminator and Robocop in the best way possible. I can’t get past the mullet Hugh Jackman is rockin’, but hopefully Sigourney Weaver in the cast will even that out.
Here’s the synopsis:
After being kidnapped by two criminals during birth, Chappie becomes the adopted son in a strange and dysfunctional family. Chappie is preternaturally gifted, one of a kind, a prodigy. He also happens to be a robot.
Chappie is due out in theaters on March 6th. The film stars: Sharlto Copley, Dev Patel, Ninja and Yo-Landi Vi$$er, Jose Pablo Cantillo, with Sigourney Weaver and Hugh Jackman. The script was written by Neill Blomkamp & Terri Tatchell.
