I’ve always been a fan of the original Poltergeist film. It’s super scary, but some tender moments thrown in amongst the chaos from the influence of Spielberg being a producer. I’ll be honest and say that I forgot they were even remaking this film with Sam Rockwell taking over for Mr. Incredible (Craig T. Nelson). The trailer below is horrifying enough and I’m excited to see what happens.
Here’s the official synopsis for Poltergeist:
Legendary filmmaker Sam Raimi (“Spiderman,” “Evil Dead”, “The Grudge”) and director Gil Kenan (“Monster House”) contemporize the classic tale about a family whose suburban home is haunted by evil forces. When the terrifying apparitions escalate their attacks and hold the youngest daughter captive, the family must come together to rescue her before she disappears forever.
Poltergeist is due out on July 24th and will star: Sam Rockwell, Rosemarie DeWitt, and Kennedi Clements.
