When we initially saw footage from the upcoming Daredevil Netflix sereies at New York Comic Con our first reaction was “well that was cool, but way too dark.” From the trailer below, it doesn’t look like they decided to get it any lighter. I’m hoping that it’s just because they’re showing off a microcosm of the full 13 episode series, but for now its hard to fully judge what’s going on. That being said, I love Marvel and I especially love Steven S. DeKnight for creating Spartacus; and if he can bring even half of the passion he had on that show to this one, then we’re all in good hands.

Check out the first trailer below.

Here’s the official synopsis for Marvel’s Daredevil:

Blinded as a young boy but imbued with extraordinary senses, Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) fights against injustice by day as a lawyer, and by night as the Super Hero “Daredevil” in modern day Hell’s Kitchen, New York City. Produced by Marvel Television and ABC Studios, with executive producers Steven S. DeKnight (Spartacus), Jeph Loeb (Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.) and Drew Goddard (Cabin In The Woods), the series also stars Rosario Dawson, Vincent D’Onofrio, Deborah Ann Woll and Elden Henson.

Daredevil makes it’s premiere on Netflix with it’s entire 13 episode run on April 10th, 2015.
