Comics, comics and more comics. The weekly tale of picking up your favorite funny books. What’s on the top of your stack this week?
Star Wars Orig Marvel Yrs #108 (Infantino Remastered Variant) (Marvel) W. Matthew Rosenberg A. Giuseppe Camuncoli
I just picked up the $1 issue 107 a couple of weeks ago. I was not a big reader of the original Star Wars run over at Marvel but I definitely wanted to add this book to my collection. Marvel is releasing issue #108 as a way to wrap up loose ends and to make some cash for their Disney overlords but I’m ok with supporting that. I also thought this Variant was pretty badass.
Superman Leviathan Rising Special #1 (DC) W. Various A. Various
I’ve been pretty excited for this year’s DC event and I am excited to see what Bendis is bringing to the table. If you’ve been following along in Action Comics, Leviathan has been wrecking some shit up and the DC Universe will never be the same! Next stop: Superman!
Batman Last Knight on Earth #1 (of 3) (Jock Variant) (DC) W. Scott Snyder, Jonathan Glapion, A. Greg Capullo
The last story of this dynamic duo’s run on the Dark Knight, perhaps. Snyder and Capullo have defined Batman for this generation and we are all the better for it. Get ready for this DC Black Label tale that will blow our minds and tickle our teeth.
Heroes in Crisis #9 (of 9) (DC) W. Tom King A. Clay Mann
This will be the first comic I read tomorrow. I don’t like the hate that King has received over the decisions made in this book as I believe that our heroes should be challenged. Sorry it didn’t turn out the way YOU wanted it to!
Doomsday Clock #10 (of 12) (Frank Variant) (DC) W. Geoff Johns A. Gary Frank
Time keeps on ticking and this book is still going. I am not reading it until it’s finished and complete. Which will be in about 2 years.
Angel #1 (BOOM! Studios) W. Bryan Edward Hill A. Gleb Melnikov
Boom! Studios has been slaying it with their Buffy relaunch. Well here comes the next chapter in all of that, Angel. He’s shown up in the main book, now pick up his solo title!
Stranger Things Six #1 (Dark Horse) W. Jody Houser, A. Edgar Salazar
Be kind rewind. You want the DEEPER story of Stranger Things? Well we are in an all-out onslaught of merchandising as we approach the premiere of the third season on Netflix. I love that Jody Houser is killing it lately and this is just another example of her fine writing!
Fantastic Four #10 (Marvel) W. Dan Slott A. Stefano Caselli
Hey it’s my Marvel title of the week. Fantastic Four has been gooooood but I think I may be more excited for the upcoming Yancy Street series.
Forgotten Queen #4 (Of 4) (Valiant) W. Tini Howard A. Amilcar Pinna
The exciting conclusion of the book you just realized you should have been reading a couple months ago!
Punk Mambo #2 (Of 5) (Valiant) W. Cullen Bunn, A. Adam Gorham
Get ready to go deeper into the mystical side of the Valiant Universe. The talent alone on this book should sell it but hey maybe you’re into Voodoo Priestesses like me.
