Hey Towelites, welcome back to another edition of Comic Cravings! Clay is away and I get to play in the sandbox this week. Lots of great books coming our way so let’s jump right in!
Beneath the Dark Crystal #2 – BOOM! Studios
Thank you BOOM! for continuing the story of The Dark Crystal. I can’t wait for the new Netflix series to further develop that world, but until then we have these comics.
Terminator Sector War #1 – Dark Horse
I loved Brian Wood’s Dark Horse Star Wars run before the rights went over to Marvel. I am a sucker for the Terminator franchise so seeing that Wood is writing this book I will most definitely be checking it out.
I am going to be super honest and tell you all that I am not caught up on my Batman and my other DC titles, of course this title is on the Top of the Stack every two weeks regardless because someday soon I will get caught up! Pick up this book, King is killing it.
Injustice VS MOTU #2(of 6) – DC
I loved the original crossover and of course the action figure two-packs that came later. Injustice is a comic that people hold up pretty high and I also love DC’s Masters of the Universe comics. The showdown between the characters is great and seems like it’ll be a lot of fun.
Scott Snyder is a genius. I am so happy that we are getting a Justice League book from him. Also, using the TV show line-up was a great choice as many of us grew up with that being our League.
I am going to read this run when it’s finished, until then I am letting the issues gather on my desk as I stare at them with great cravings.
Bendis is starting his tenure at DC very strong and will be reuniting with his Jessica Jones co-creator, Michael Gaydos. Pearl is the new JinxWorld title that I am most looking forward to reading, glad to see that Bendis is able to continue his imprint.
This cover may not be safe for work but the comic is very enjoyable. Mark Millar’s first Netflix comic is off to a great start and I can’t wait to see this put in live-action eventually!
Extermination #1(of 5) – Marvel
If I am going to follow one Marvel event once in awhile it usually involves the X-Men. It really seems like mutants are always being exterminated a lot, also I think this is a rehashed title…
I was just ask for some Beckett and team stories and here we have our first dose. Listen, I loved Solo and I want to see more from that universe.
Gotta love Valiant. Ninja-K is one of the most solid comics I have read recently. The storytelling always impresses me but Gage has blown me away with this run.
