For me, Judy Greer is forever going to be known as George Bluth’s assistant, Kitty, on Arrested Development. She is a hilarious actress and knows good comic timing. I’m not entirely sure how those skills will translate to the female ape lead in Matt Reeve‘s upcoming, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes.
Greer had previously worked with Andy Serkis on the film, 13 Going on 30, and it was Serkis who advocated for Greer to join the film. Greer will be learning from his tutelage and I’m sure that if anyone needed to learn how to do motion capture, taking instruction from Gollum would be the best way. Greer will be playing Cornelia, opposite Serkis’ Caesar as the love interest.
The 20th Century Fox film is slated to open on May 23, 2014. Dawn of the Planet of the Apes will also star: Gary Oldham, Kodi Smit-Mcphee, Keri Russell, and Jason Clarke.
