After the success of Justice League: Gods and Monsters Chronicles, oh wait that hasn’t even come out yet?! In anticipation of the success of that animated film, DC Comics and Machinima have renewed the “show” for a second season which will have more episodes. The second season will feature 10 episodes this time around. This is a series that I am really looking forward to because DC does a stellar job with their animated movies/series and also it’s an Elseworlds tale which is always greatly appreciated. But that’s not all!

Dial H for HeroIt has been announced that a modern version of the classic comic Dial H for Hero will be adapted into a modern telling called #4Hero. This makes a lot of sense seeing how much the world has changed since the day of the rotary phone. This time around the hero(ine) will be Nellie Tribble who finds a smartphone app that turns her into a superhero. The catch is that the power she gets depends on what’s trending on social media. Sounds interesting, especially seeing that it will be an action-comedy of sorts.

StarmanAlso look for DC Comics to enter the realm of reality TV with DC’s Hero Project. The first (of what I’m sure to be many) will be based on a competition to create a live-action short for the classic hero Starman. The contestants will compete via elimination challenges and they will be judged by some “well-known” faces, including DC mogul Geoff Johns.

DC has had some great success stories when it comes to the TV and digital platform. Do you think that this is the right route to compete with Marvel when it comes to their aggressive Netflix agenda? Sound off in the comments!
