There have been some major developments on the TV front for WB and DC’s properties. Word has it that the tv shows will not tie into the current DC Cinematic Universe, but news of any show on the heels of the success of Arrow is exciting. Some new details surrounding the upcoming detective drama, Gotham have surfaced and we have a pilot for the Constantine series greenlit! Keep reading for more!

Gotham sounds better and better as more news hits regarding the upcoming show based on the GCPD, and now we get some details on what time period it will take place during and what villains we will be seeing. Fox Chairman Kevin Reilly confirmed that, “The show will arc a young Bruce Wayne from a child (around 12) into the final episode of the series, when he will put on the cape,” and in regards to the villains of the show, we will be seeing a “younger” version of the classic rogues. Reilly says that, “We will see how they get to become who they are as Gotham is teetering on the edge. It is an operatic soap that has a slightly larger-than-life quality”. This all sounds pretty good to me!

Constantine

It’s been rumored for awhile and but it looks like everyone’s favorite cigarette smoking Mage, Constantine, will be receiving a pilot! The series will be developed by NBC,The Mentalistt executive producer Daniel Cerone and David S. Goyer. Constantine is described as an “enigmatic and irreverent con man-turned-reluctant supernatural detective who is thrust into the role of defending us against dark forces from beyond”

No word on if this show will stem into the rumored Justice League Dark movie, but one can dream! With the success of NBC’s supernatural shows I am actually looking forward to this one, but only if they make him British of course.
