It’s been a long time since we reported that Harry Potter author, J. K. Rowling, would be teaming up with Warner J.K. Rowling blue dressBros. to bring another film based off her beloved series to the big screen. In the Harry Potter books, one of the assigned reading materials is Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them by Newt Scamander. 

Today, we find out that this book will be the basis for a new TRILOGY of films. Seems like Fantastic Beasts will be taking the route of Lord of the Rings, as Warner Bros. wants to turn it into a franchise.

Here’s a brief synopsis of what to expect:

[box_light]Set initially in New York about seven decades before the start of the Harry Potter story, the films will follow magizoologist Newt Scamander. They’re not prequels or sequels, but an “extension of the wizarding world.[/box_light]
