We’re finally getting details on the Extended Edition for The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug. As is the tradition with the Peter Jackson films, we’ll be greeted with a ton of new footage and behind-the-scenes to take a look at. The Extended Edition will get an additional 25 minutes of footage, over nine hours of special features; including audio commentary with Jackson and co-writer Philippa Boyens. The real meat will lie within The Appendicies, a multi-part documentary focusing on various aspects of the film and trilogy.
