Check out our first official look at the King of Atlantis, Aquaman, from the upcoming animated film Justice League: Throne of Atlantis. The movie will be a followup to this years Justice League: War, which marked the beginning of DC Comics’ animated universe.
If you are familiar with the New 52 stories, then you will recognize this movie as being very similar to the crossover event, Throne of Atlantis, that jumped between the Justice League and Aquaman comics. Since they decided not to include Aquaman in Justice League: War, he will make his debut in TOA, as he takes on his brother Ocean Master. Who made a cameo in the credits of the first movie. But unlike the comics, the movie will give us more of a look into Aquaman’s past, acting as an origin movie of sorts.
I loved Justice League: War! It was action packed, well animated, and a great start to the new canon! DC Collectibles also released some promo images for the upcoming action figure line based on the film!
Justice League: Throne of Atlantis stars Jason O’Mara (Batman), Shemar Moore (Cyborg), Christopher Gorham (the Flash), Sean Astin (Shazam), Nathan Fillion (Green Lantern), Rosario Dawson (Wonder Woman), Jerry O’Connell (Superman), Sam Witwer (Orm) and Sumalee Montano (Mera). The movie is due out in early 2015!
