CynicNerd asked me tonight what I meant by “next gen” when I referred to Naughty Dog‘s newest game, The Last of Us. Next-Gen to me doesn’t mean that it’s going to be featured on a different system, like a PS4. It simply meant the next generation of gaming. A game that is as interactive with it’s A.I. that it’s a different experience every time you play the game. The choices you make in the game effect everyone involved, and its a more enriching experience.
I believe that The Last of Us, will be that next generation game. Take a look at the trailer that premiered at the Spike VGA’s last week and judge for yourself, we are seeing the future of what a game can truly be.
Abandoned cities reclaimed by nature. A population decimated by a modern plague. Survivors are killing each other for food, weapons; whatever they can get their hands on.
Joel, a brutal survivor, and Ellie, a brave young teenage girl who is wise beyond her years, must work together if they hope to survive their journey across the US.
The Last of Us will be out Q2 2013.
