During SDCC we had a lot of superhero news, but also a lot of news about legends and Gods. Two such announcements from Legendary Pictures were the king kong and godzillafilms, Godzilla 2 and Skull Island, a film featuring King Kong. For Godzilla 2, it was a worry that director-Gareth Edwards would be caught up in a Star Wars spinoff, but Edwards had this to say after thanking the fans, “It means we get to make another one. I’ll be back to do Godzilla 2.”

Skull Island had a footage reveal of the King of the Apes and a press release that read:  “Previous works have touched on the island, but exploring this mysterious and dangerous place offers Legendary the opportunity to take audiences deeper inside this rich world with a style and scope that parallels other Legendary productions. The film will be released on November 4, 2016.” Given that the two monsters are under Legendary’s umbrella, one can only assume/hope for a battle between the two of them.

As more news comes out around Godzilla 2 and King Kong: Skull Island, we’ll be sure to keep you posted here at DFAT!
