The DC Comics TV superhero world is getting bigger and bigger and we are all the better for it. Regardless of how some nerds feel about these shows they are super popular and won’t be going anywhere for a long time. With the awesome success of The Flash spinning out of Arrow, The CW has just greenlit the next adventure, Legends of Tomorrow, which is going to bring a bunch of well known heroes (and villains) together to battle a common enemy. Here’s the official synopsis of the show:

In Legends, when heroes alone are not enough, the world needs legends. Having seen the future, one he will desperately try to prevent from happening, time-traveling rogue Rip Hunter (Arthur Darvill) is tasked with assembling a disparate group of both heroes and villains to confront an unstoppable threat—one in which not only is the planet at stake, but all of time itself. Can this ragtag team defeat an immortal threat unlike anything they have ever known?

Executive Producer Greg Berlanti will have his hands full now that Supergirl has also received a full season order from CBS, that’s four shows now! Not to mention the animated Vixen series that’s just around the corner. It will be awesome to see a superhero team-up show of this caliber!

Legends of TomorrowLegends of Tomorrow stars Brandon Routh (Ray Palmer/The Atom), Wentworth Miller (Leonard Snart/Captain Cold), Dominic Purcell (Mick Rory, Heat Wave), Victor Garber (Martin Stein/Firestorm), Ciara Renee (Kendra Saunders, Hawkgirl), Franz Drameh (Jay Jackson) and Caity Lotz. It’s still not clear who Lotz will be playing seeing that her character from Arrow, Sara Lance/Canary, died this past season. But we are talking about comic books here and the inclusion of the Lazarus Pit could spell out some major spoilers. There’s still no word on when the show will premiere.
