Now that Carter is in custody, she must try to fight for her freedom and stop the real threat from destroying the SSR and the city. Russian psychiatrist, Dr. Ivchenko continues his method of manipulation with the agents of the SSR and communicates with Dottie, the female Russian assassin.
The Good
- Even though Carter is arrested, she doesn’t break about her innocence and tries to convince Agent Sousa, Thompson, and Chief Dooley that she is on their side.
- Jarvis fails miserably to get Carter out of the SSR. But it is hilarious watching him try.
- Carter finally confesses to them about her covert mission within the SSR to exonerate Stark for treason. She even pulls out the trump card, Steve Roger’s blood.
- Sousa, and Thompson finally believe her.
- Carter discovers that Dr. Ivchenko has been using Morse Code to communicate with Dottie in Chief Dooley’s office. Sousa, Thompson and a few other agents pursue Dottie, but fails to attain her.
- Chief Dooley is the second victim under Dr. Ivchenko brainwashing method, along with Agent Yecho earlier. Ivchenko forces Dooley to put on one of Stark’s inventions. He sacrifices himself to save everybody in the SSR. Before he died, he tells Carter to stop Ivchenko. Dooley’s departure is heartbreaking.
- Ivchenko escapes with one of Stark’s inventions, Number 17. Jarvis has no idea what that invention is.
- Dottie and Ivchenko uses Number 17 in a movie theater filled with people. They start to act violently towards one another and eventually killing each other.
- Carter gets a gut feeling that Leviathan is not done, and that something bigger is upon the horizon.
The Bad
- Too many good people are dying.
- The bad guys are getting away way too easily.
- When Carter finally gets Dooley’s respect, he dies. It is too soon for him to go.
In this episode, Leviathan and its operatives get the upper hand against the SSR. Dooley’s death is tragic and I’m pretty sure he won’t be the last. Carter must step up her game to defeat Leviathan and prevent New York City from being destroyed. Finally, did this episode reveal that Dr. Ivchenko is in fact the classic Marvel villain Dr Faustus, aka Dr. Fennhoff?! I think so!
