Any Towelites out there “have the Monday’s”? I know I do. Anywho it’s time once again to round up the latest news and rumors surrounding Marvel Studios’ Phase 2!

 

 

 

Joss Whedon, aka Marvel‘s “true” Watcher, is dropping some hints into what’s to come for our favorite heroes! In the follow-up  to his 2012 blockbuster The Avengers, Whedon will introduce a force so bad-ass that only as a team can Earth’s mightiest heroes defeat the impossible! Whedon recently attended the Dublin International Film Festival for his latest film and Shakespeare adapted, Much Ado About Nothing. Of course The Avengers is never hands-off when it comes to interviews!

Whedon: When I first considered doing Avengers 2, my first question was what can I do that’s new? Because I can’t make it bigger….but I can make it better.

Marvel Studios‘ president and producer Kevin Feige is the man with the answers when it comes to the Captain America sequel! With the involvement of S.H.I.E.L.D. with the announced appearances of Nick Fury and Black Widow, we know that this film will be downright Tom Clancy style throw-down! Besides GOTG, Cap 2 is probably my number 1 anticipated movie of Phase 2! Here’s what Fiege had to say in a recent interview with Variety.

“If it is a fad, it’s one that lasts 30 to 40 years, as the Western did, because each one is so different.  There’s an opportunity to graft almost sub-genres onto them. Our first Captain America film was a World War II picture, and the next is a political thriller. They all have their own textures and patinas, and that’s what is exciting about it.”

 

Here’s the latest in the Iron Man 3 character posters. The third in the series features Sir Ben Kingsley’s The Mandarin, and sets a new mood for the character:

 

 

 

Kinda ridiculous if you ask me. What’s even better is this expanded version courtesy of Empire Magazine. Iron Man’s helmet is currently his boot rest, do you see Captain America’s WWII helmet as well?! I wonder what else is hidden in there? Not that anyone really questioned if the GOTG movie was in good hands or not. A recent meeting of the minds took place between director and writer, James Gunn, and comic creative team from the 2008 legendary run, Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning. Later after the pow-wow Lanning Tweeted the following:
