Leave it to my favorite comic book writer, Mark Millar, to hit it big once again. After it was announced last week that his comic, Superior, was being turned into a movie at Fox; now it seems another MillarWorld title is getting the big screen treatment. His upcoming comic, MPH, which he makes with Duncan Fegredo is currently being optioned by Transformers and G.I. Joe producter, Lorenzo di Bonaventura.

MPH is going to be the last of the MillarWorld books, says Millar. He is currently wrapping up Volume One of Jupiter’s Legacy, Starlight (optioned by Fox); and has The Secret Service coming out later this year being directed by Matthew Vaughn. MPH centers on four 19-year olds who get their hands on a street drug that gives them the ability to move at light-speed for seven days. The first issue is due to come out on May 21 from Image Comics.

Millar had some words on why he wanted Lorenzo to be the producer on MPH.

“(Lorenzo’s) one of the few real moguls in the industry, having hired Chris Nolan forBatman and bought the rights to the Harry Potter books when he was head of Warner Bros. and then of course he’s the guy behind the Transformers movies,” says Millar. “So he’s a guy who really knows how to make huge pictures and he’s somebody I’ve always wanted to work with on one of the bigger Millarworld adaptations.”

We have a first look at the comic and what to expect below. I can’t wait!
