In what can only be a real ‘are you effing kidding me moment’ Netflix has officially cancelled the Iron Fist television show. While the first season was pretty meh, the second season redeemed it and the ending left things WIDE OPEN for some insane things to come from the series; yet here we are. I’m going to be completely honest here and say that while I’m surprised it happened, it doesn’t bother me one bit. We’ve been asking for a Heroes for Hire show since the beginning here at DFAT and maybe this is that opening. Read the last line from Netflix:
“Marvel’s Iron Fist will not return for a third season on Netflix,” Netflix and Marvel said in a statement release to Deadline. “Everyone at Marvel Television and Netflix is proud of the series and grateful for all of the hard work from our incredible cast, crew and showrunners. We’re thankful to the fans who have watched these two seasons, and for the partnership we’ve shared on this series. While the series on Netflix has ended, the immortal Iron Fist will live on.”
You have to think that the end game is for Luke Cage, Danny Rand, Colleen Wing, and Misty Knight to have their own amazing show of Heroes for Hire and Daughters of the Dragon combined. Here’s hoping and not just seeing Danny Rand show up from time-to-time on the shows dropping chi-wisdom. While that’s not the worst thing, I could think it could go so much better. What do you think is gonna happen with Iron Fist: No More?
