Locke & Key has been long in development as a movie, as a TV series over at Hulu, and finally as a show coming to Netflix. The Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodriguez comic book has found it’s final destination at the streaming juggernaut. The comic is a horror/fantasy series that revolves around three siblings who, after the gruesome murder of their father, move to their ancestral home in Massachusetts only to find the house has magical keys that give them a vast array of powers and abilities. Little do they know, a devious demon also wants the keys, and will stop at nothing to attain them.
Meredith Averill (The Good Wife) will co-showrun the series with Carlton Cuse. Cuse and series co-creator Joe Hill (the son of Stephen King) co-write the first episode with Aron Eli Coleite. The new series will not retain any of the cast or footage used from Hulu’s attempt at adapting the series, instead completely re-developing the series and re-casting the parts.
As more news comes from the project, we’ll be sure to keep you posted here at DFAT!
