Robert Kirkman is at the top of his game right now. He’s got one of the biggest shows on television with The Walking Dead, can’t walk around Comic Con without getting mobbed, and is about to launch another potential hit show from his Patrick_Fugitcomic book property, Outcast.

The story surrounds a man named Kyle Barnes who been plagued by possession since he was a child. Patrick Fugit has been out-cast to play Kyle, while Adam Wingard (The Guest, You’re Next) is tapped to direct the pilot for Cinemax. Outcast is already in it’s 5th printing and sells out from comic shops every day, going to cable is a smart choice; though I didn’t even know Cinemax had television shows. It’s going to be interesting to see how it does.

I liked Fugit’s work on Almost Famous, and Wingard has been setting himself from other directors in the last few years as someone who can make great films for a very small budget. It’ll be better when we see a preview, but for now, I’m just intrigued.

What do you think of Outcast being turned into a television show? Will it fail, or succeed?
