I keep trying to block out the fact that there is an American remake of Gareth Evan‘s The Raid being made. At the same time, I guess it won’t really matter because I already have the originals. Loving them so much, I know I’ll also end up seeing gambitkitsch1this one. You can read my reviews for the first and second films here and here.

Today, we learn that Taylor Kitsch (That one Gambit) has been offered the role that Iko Uwais has done so well. If you don’t know the story of The Raid, Kitsch would be beating up hundreds of bad guys in an apartment complex with insane martial art skills. If it sticks to the original.

One glimmer of hope is that Evans is the Executive Producer, he’s hired his choreographers from the first films, and the film is also being produced by the original production company, XYZ Films. The film is being written by Brad Ingelsby (Out of the Furnace) and directed by Patrick Hughes (Expendables 3).

Please let us know what you think about this upcoming film, good or bad. As more news comes in on The Raid remake, be sure to Stay Tuned to DFAT for your latest news.
