It was originally supposed to be given to Josh Trank, but his directorial duties lie elsewhere with Fantastic Four. We now find out that Andres Muschietti will be helping the Shadow of Colossus film for Sony. The director of Mama has some VERY big shoes to fill as the story finds a boy that must go out and destroy these insanely large creatures that roam the land, air, and sea.
The film is based off of a Playstation 2 title of the same name, and I loved it. Its a big like Zelda in the sense that the kid doesn’t talk, rides a horse, and has to save a girl; but other than that it’s a beast of it’s own. All puns intended.
Said of Sony’s Michael De Luca “We knew we had our director once we heard Andy’s take on the material – it was genius.” He went on to say”The themes, characters and supernatural elements of the story have incredible international appeal with fans of the game in the millions.”
