We spoke a while back about Sony separating Venom and the Black Cat/Silver Sable movie into their own unique universes that didn’t tie in to Spider-Man Homecoming. I ranted and raved about how much of a stupid move that was and how I will continue to hate Sony forever. Now while I’m not going to let them off the hook for the atrocities that they’ve committed throughout the years, it looks like I can breathe *a little* sigh of relief at them making efforts to include their spinoff movies into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Producer Amy Pascal said that the films will serve as “adjuncts” to the world they’re creating for Peter Parker.

Both movies will all take place in the world that we’re now creating for Peter Parker. I mean, they’ll be adjuncts to it, there may be different locations, but it will still all be in the same world and they will be connected to each other.

The other interesting bit of information is that Pascal was then asked if Holland would appear as Spider-Man in one or both of those films, to which Pascal replied:

“There’s a chance… there’s always a chance.”

I’ll read between the lines a little bit and say that Kevin Feige no doubt stormed into her office the moment her heard rumblings that these films wouldn’t be connected and laid down his billion dollar baseball cap and said something along the lines of “This hat is worth more than your entire film studio because I know how to effing build a cinematic universe. Not having Venom in a Spider-Man universe is the dumbest thing since making the Ghostbusters film last year a standalone movie and not a sequel.” I may be paraphrasing, but I’m also correct.

Stay Tooned as to what other insanity comes about with this MCU and Sony partnership.
