J. J. Abrams and crew have started filming Star Wars: Episode VII and it looks like we already may have a delay. Harrison Ford has broke his leg on the set is expected to have an 8 week recovery time. The 77 year old actor is coming back to don the space chaps as Han Solo again in the newest film but this will take a serious toll on him and Chewie doing any Kessel runs in the Millennium Falcon.
According to the BBC, Ford had surgery and is set to make a speedy recovery.
“His surgery was successful and he will begin rehab shortly. He’s doing well and looks forward to returning to work.”
Robert Downey Jr. went through a similar problem on the set of Iron Man 3. He was out for 6 weeks, and through the use of CGI and a stunt double, made his hiatus not as noticeable on the final film. We wish Ford a fast recovery and can’t wait to see him back in the role next Winter!
