With the return of Star Wars ever looming in the next 3 years, it’s great that Disney and LucasFilm are giving fans little treats to get us exccited about the Force once again. We found out earlier that there will be Han Solo and Boba Fett stand-alone films; but there is also a rumor that Jedi-Master, Yoda, will also get a movie of his own. If this rumor comes true, the voice of Yoda himself, Frank Oz, is more than happy to lend his talents back to the character he brought to life.
In a recent interview, Oz had this to say: “He’s in my heart. I know Yoda very deeply…The future of Yoda is likely in CGI, as he was rendered in “Attack of the Clones” and “Revenge of the Sith.” I think it depends on the story, but I think at this point you can’t go back to the puppet. The reason George [Lucas] did the CGI, which I supported, was that he wanted to tell a story that would have been hampered by the physical limitations of the puppet.”
We don’t know what will happen, if this Yoda movie will come true or not; but I’d say that chances are pretty likely. There’s no reason that we won’t see a few Yoda movies, figuring he lived almost 900years. I personally am looking forward to his beginnings as a young Jedi Master, and what helped his rise to being one of the most powerful Jedi of all time.
