Hey Towelites welcome back to another great edition of Star Wars Sundays! This week Entertainment Weekly got the lowdown on the upcoming standalone Star Wars flick Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Are you ready to get learned on some news from your favorite galaxy far, far away?!

Darth Vader Front and Center

Jone Darth VaderNot only will Darth Vader be a prominent force to be reckoned with in the film, the masked villain will once again be voiced by James Earl Jones! We also learned a little more about the Imperial agent that will be Vader’s new enforcer, Director Orson Krennic (Ben Mendehlson). He will be in charge of all those fancy new Stormtroopers that somehow don’t show up in the Holy Trilogy even though this film takes place before all that… WHATEVER!! I’M PUMPED!!! KILL DEATHTROOPERS, KILL!!!Deathtrooper Rogue One

Forest Whitaker is…

Whitaker Saw GerreraNow this is WORLD-BUILDING!! Remember that time you decided not to watch The Clone Wars? Well you may want to rethink that strategy of not making it canon in your own head. It has been revealed that Forest Whitaker will portray the freedom fighter Saw Gerrera! So go and do your homework if you have no idea what I’m talking about because things are getting real when it comes to the “New Canon”!

Mads Mikkelsen is a good guy?!

Mads MikkelsenWell we knew this USUAL bad guy was going to be in the film but we weren’t really sure in what capacity. It has has been revealed that Mads Mikkelsen will be playing Felicity Jones aka Jyn Erso’s father who is a scientist that both the Rebellion and Empire are interested in. The amount of talent that this film has in it only gets me more and more excited for December, and another great birthday present from LucasFilm.

The Force is semi-strong with this one

Chirrut ImweSo remember when Maz Kanata told Rey that she wasn’t exactly a Jedi but still had access to the Force? Well it looks like Disney will be taking this idea and running with it. Chirrut Imwe played by Donnie Yen will be one such “Force Adept” who will not only be blind in the film but have the ability to kick the crap outta the bad guys, as you’ve seen in the trailer. I am pretty ok with this and I think that it could have some major implications for things to come with the “New Canon”.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story hits theaters on December 16th! Check out the trailer AGAAAIIIIINNNNN!!!!
