So, the trailer for The Amazing Spider-Man 2 dropped, and I wanted us to take a closer look at everything that happened. It was 2 minutes and 41 seconds of action, intrigue, and a lot of web-slinging. Yet, what did it all mean to us the fans, the big-wigs at Sony, and director Marc Webb’s vision?

POTENTIAL Spoilers lie ahead. (I’m not a Sony exec, I’m not related to Marc Webb, I’m just a huge Spidey fan and have some theories)

– We can pretty much tell that the ending is ruined on this film. We get a look at, whom I PRESUME is according to an interview with Marc Webb, The Gentleman, walking to a spooky area of Oscorp. He passes by The Vulture’s wings, and Doctor Octopus’ arms. It’s not impossible, just highly improbable that this would be seen before the post-credits sequence

– I’m hoping that The Rhino battle is the first battle we see in the film. Then, Giammatti’s character isn’t seen again until Spidey 3 where he’ll be part of the Sinister Six

– There’s a possibility we’ll see the symbiote. Thanks to Reddit user VurigKnijn for finding the image below.

Raimi ROYALLY screwed up Venom in the last film, but I do like the Ultimate storyline of the character. It would be cool if this is just an Easter Egg, and Venom gets his own film instead of saturating an already full deck.

– Shailene Woodley might not have made the final cut as Mary Jane, but she may have made it to the trailer.

– They aren’t going with the Ultimate or Classic Goblin version, which is a waste to me. The reason we’re probably seen Harry as the Goblin instead of his father, is because his father attempted to take the super “serum” and failed and it’s killing him. Harry is younger, and better equipped for the change.

– The Sinister Six will most likely include: The Rhino, Doc Ock, Lizard, Electro, Vulture, and Green Goblin

Only time will tell if any of these theories will come true, but Stay Tuned to DFAT as more Amazing Spider-Man 2 news comes in!
