Scott Snyder has been receiving rave reviews for his excellent work on Batman since the New 52 “reboot”. I for one have to agree, a big fan of Snyder before his rise to fame, I discovered his talent through books such as American Vampire and his run on Detective Comics. I also picked up his short-story novel “Voodoo Heart”, about a year and a half ago, and it blew me away. I  had the honor of meeting him at NYCC 2011, which I am VERY sure will be near impossible to get any face-time this year. I did get my copy of Voodoo Heart, Batman #1, and American Vampire #1 all signed by him. He’s a cool dude. Ok, enough geeking out..sorry 😉

Anywho, Batman #13. We have not seen or heard from the Joker since Detective Comics #1 (which will be over a year ago come this October!), at end of the book when Joker had his face removed by Dollmaker. Scott Snyder is the one man I believe can do great justice to the character, his ability to write uncanny terror is some of the best talent I have experienced in recent years. So save the date! You can preorder it here.

Here’s a recent quote from Batman artist Greg Capullo’s Twitter Feed:

“As careful as I’ve been to save revealing our new Joker, the powers that be have let it out ahead if our book. Stay tuned fir MY pics. In my younger days, I’d have punched several holes in the walls of my office by now. Rest assured, I will give you terror when I draw him. When I draw it, THAT will be it. Try not to look at it. Wait for ours if you can. The more I’ve thought about the Joker leak, the more I began thinking that it may have been for the best. The fact is, the way Scott and I.. will give you the Joker may have been too much for some with out this diluted sample hitting the web. DC, rightly so, had concerns about- Our images and story. Perhaps they leaked this intentionally to test the waters or to acclimate your minds to what is coming from us. Team Batman knows how to do one thing. Destroy. So, even if you do see the leak, you ain’t seen nothing yet. Trust me. I’m still not going to reveal my sketches. I won’t let this incident blow the whole works. Be patient. Terror is heading your way.”

“Scott and I carefully designed together, with a lot if back and forth, the look of Joker. It’s a shared effort that we’re happy with.
