The steady thump of the machines heart pounded in her ears. It was peaceful, surprisingly peaceful. Cassie floated on top of an ocean of color. Every breath threatened to sink her in the thick, swirling sea. She was floating down towards a point, something she could not make out. It pulled at her ankles.

Strange Fruit #4 of 4 (Boom!)

J.G. Jones/ Mark Waid (W) J.G. Jones (A)

Holy shit. Is this a dream? The first issue came out over a year ago and this series has been plagued with delay after delay. It’s finally coming to an end.

Champions #2 (Marvel)

Mark Waid (W) Humberto Ramos (A)

Don’t take this as a sign of ill will towards this comic. It’s a very good week this week. The first issue was solid, and I cannot wait for more. My issue isn’t with this comic, but with the way the business works. They solicited this comic a long time ago, which is fine. Then they released it before the newest issue of Civil War II, so when the pivitol moment comes when the Avengers break up, I already knew what was going to happen. Dramatic tension destroyed.

What I said above applies to this one as well. That being said, still very excited for this series. Interested by the line-up. Everyone likes some Hercules.

Death of X #3 of 4 (Marvel)

Jeff Lemire/ Charles Soule (W) Aaron Kuder (A)

This series has been amazing so far. I thought it would be good, but it is kind of defying all of my expectations. This is exactly the kind of thing a team like this should be producing. Excellent storytelling.

Batman #10 (DC)

Tom King (W) Mikel Janin (A)

Who doesn’t like a good Bane fight? I mean it’s gone so well for Batman in the past, right? Maybe it’ll be better with some friends.

Green Arrow #10 (DC)

Ben Percy (W) Juan Ferreyra (A)

The last issue ended with a punch to the face. I mean seriously, who doesn’t want a little intrigue and throat punching on a train? I’ll tell you who, probably the communists.

I really love this comic, but I do have one problem, and it’s been a big one recently. I can never actually tell when this comic is coming out. Last week it was solicited, then delayed another week. This week it seems it’s going to come out, but I never have my hopes too high.

Moon Knight #8 (Marvel)

Jeff Lemire (W) Jame Stokoe/ Francesco Francavilla/ Greg Smallwood

This series has been blowing me away recently. Not recently, the entire run of the comic to this point. It has been one trip after another and I really hope that this series continues for a while.

It’s that time of year again. Comics are starting to have their Christmas issues. Here we go. I wonder what Christmas is like in a town drenched in blood. I bet it’s extra festive.

Unworthy Thor #1 of 5 (Marvel)

Jason Aaron (W) Olivier Coipel (A)

Fuck sakes. I’ve been waiting for this comic for ages. I mean it’s been almost three years since Odinson lost his ability to wield Mjolnir. I need to know what the fuck happened. Damn them for doing this shit to me.

Deadly Class #23 (Image)

Rick Remender (W) Craig Wesley (A)

After some pretty intense shake ups in this comic, I’m excited to see where this is all leading. I mean you don’t do what they did if you don’t have a plan, right? Nah, fuck that, I don’t give a shit if they don’t have a plan, just tell me a good story.

Reunited and it feels so fucking good. This series is just coming off of winning Best Continuing Series at the Eisners. Nothing tastes as sweet as victory.

Flashbulbs went off all around her. She opened her eyes for a moment, hoping to catch a familiar face among the sea of onlookers. Far more people than she remembered were pushing in to get a look. The faces she had hoped to see were no where. She held her breath as the final tug pulled her feet under, the rest of her trailing like a rag doll. A painful thought entered her mind, would this contest be the last thing she ever did?
