The wind kicked up red dust, whipping it into a frenzy, pulling it into the heavens before letting it fall to the dead earth. The town looked empty from a distance. As Timothy got closed he could see the sun dried, dirt caked faces of old men sitting on the porch of some of the houses. The whole town held it’s breath for something. Each member waiting in isolation among a dozen others. A Mirage set on the horizon, almost taunting the crumbling town. Where they had tumble weeds and wooden shacks, those that lived in the mirage had foliage, shining metals, fauna, smiles. No one even considered the fairness of it all.

Doctor Strange #1 (Marvel)

Mark Waid (W) Jesus Saiz (A)

While I am excited about the talent on this title, I’m gonna miss the guys who just left the book. That being said, Doctor Strange in space is great.

The Immortal Hulk #1 (Marvel)

Al Ewing (W) Joe Bennett (A)

I am really curious about this title. If everything lines up the way its being advertised, this could be a welcome breath of fresh air for our Colossal Green Monster.

Justice League #1 (DC)

Scott Snyder (W) Jum Cheung (A)

I am so pumped about this one. There are two more on the way that I’m just as excited about. I’ve seen a couple preview pages of this comic and oooooweee does it look like a snack.

Prism Stalker #4 (Image)

Sloane Leong (W) Darius Ou (A)

This series is such a bright, brilliant, strange piece of art. I love it so much.

Astonishing X-Men #12 (Marvel)

Charles Soule (W) Gerardo Sandoval (A)

The last issue with Soule at the helm. Next we get to see what Rosenberg has to offer us. I’m gonna miss Soule, but dammit if I’m not still excited.

Wonder Woman Annual #2 (DC)

James Robinson (W) Marc Larning (A)

WW Becomes a lantern once again! I’m very excited.

Captain America #703 (Marvel)

Mark Waid (W) Leonardo Romero (A)

I love the idea of this book being less about the man Captain America and more about the legacy he left behind. Super fun, very excited for this issue.

The Gravediggers Union #7 (of 9) (Image)

Wes Craig (W) Toby Cypress (A)

Another series that’s ending sooner than I expected. I’m gonna miss this weird ape zombie, apocalyptic, father-daughter story.

Isola #3 (Image)

Brenden Fletcher (W) Karl Kerschl (A)

This series is absolutely gorgeous. Each page overflows with color and style. It’s a wonderfully heartfelt story and you’d be a fool to miss it.

Doctor Star and the Kingdom of Lost Tomorrows #4 (of 4)

Jeff Lemire (W) Max Fiumara (A)

Speaking of heartfelt. Way to rip my still beating heart out of my chest like I’m just some sort of paltry sacrifice, guys. The hell?

Paper Girls #21 (Image)

Brian K. Vaughan (W) Cliff Chiang (A)

It’s BACK and I’m more excited than ever to jump back into this weird 80’s beast of a comic.

Exit Stage Left: The Snagglepuss Chronicles #6 (of 6) (DC)

Mark Russell (W) Mike Feehan (A)

Well, I guess this is going to hurt then, isn’t it?

Death or Glory #2 (Image)

Rick Remender (W) Bengal (A)

Holy biscuits, this world is beautifully rendered. I am already in love with this comic, and you should be to. I am the baron of good taste and it is now time for your bi-quarterly taste-test.

Batman #48 (DC)

Tom King (W) Mikel Janin (A)

The Joker is piiiiiiiiiissssed

Black Science #36 (Image)

Rick Remender (W) Matteo Scalera (A)

Man, I am really fucking bummed after the last issue. This series may wrap up with the most bitter-sweet arc of the whole series. I should have fucking known.

Tim walked into the eatery, drawing some vicious glances from the patrons. He was a traitor in their minds. A prisoner who had sold his soul to the Mirage in exchange for some coin to buy a decent dinner and maybe a few drinks. His clothes were hardly even worn in comparison. He was a fresh wound, bleeding on the scars. The barkeep brought him an aged booze, fermented somewhere local. He thought of his mother and fingered the change in his shirt pocket.
