He hears my echo, it does not phase him. He continues working with no hesitation. I’ll return for this one. There are plenty more to choose from. One stands above the rest, she takes the time to invite me towards her. She doesn’t take it personally when I decline. One adorned with green glow, smirks at me. I pass him causally. Then there is one, different from the rest in the back.

Devolution05-Cov-A-Lee-103c2

Devolution #5 of 5 (Dynamite)

Rick Remender (W) Jonathan Wayshak (A)

The last issue in a limited run I joined late. The last issue actually felt as if it could have been the final one so I’m interested to see how they end it from there.

spidergwen 9

Spider-Gwen #9 (Marvel)

Jason Latour (W) Robbi Rodriguez (A)

Okay, thank God. That crossover bullshit is over. We can get back to the nitty gritty. Time to fight some Frank Castle!

all new inhumans 8

All-New Inhumans #8 (Marvel)

James Asmus (W) Stefano Caselli (A)

This is the second issue without Soule at the helm, and I can say that I am not disappointed with the first arc. Okay, not much of a praise, but I’m very cautious. I dug the first issue and I am excited to see where it goes from here.

ACv3n36-cover-ds-683ec

Astro City #36 (Vertigo)

Kurt Busiek (W) Ron Randall (A)

The second part of the exploration of the lore and legacy of Jack-In-The-Box. I’ve really been digging the noir sensibilities of this comic recently. Not to mention, getting back to some of the original Astro City characters. That’s always nice.

Green Arrow #1 (DC)

Ben Percy (W) Otto Schmidt (A)

The breakout Rebirth series is coming back with a solid number one. So far I have really dug the parallels the first issue had with Long Bow Hunters. I’m super excited for this series.

uncanny inhumans 10

Uncanny Inhumans #10 (Marvel)

Charles Soule (W) Kev Walker (A)

Woo! We get an issue about Reader. It’s about time. He’s played the sidelines a bit since early on in the last Inhumans series. I think this dude deserves his own comic, but I guess a single issue will have to do. Darn.

black widow 4

Black Widow #4 (Marvel)

Mark Waid/Chris Samnee (W) Chris Samnee (A)

This comic is balls to the wall. If you like comics that read like a Jason Bourne action sequence, this comic is right for you. I mean damn. I knew Natasha was a badass, but shit, this is amazing.

civil war 2 2

Civil War II #2 of 7 (Marvel)

Brian Michael Bendis (W) David Marquez (A)

Dammit, I really didn’t want to like this series. Fuck, the first issue was amazing. I’m hooked already, I need to know what happens. Whatever, no shame.

Batman-1-cover-8e246

Batman #1 (DC)

Tom King (W) David Finch (A)

These guys have some big ass shoes to fill. Snyder and Capullo’s run on the last Batman series will go down in history, that said, I can’t think of a better team to take us somewhere new. I loved the new take on Calender Man in the Rebirth one shot. Pick this one up.

Life continues with or without you. Just thought I’d give you a cheerful little boost to help you through the day. Your life is entirely meaningless in the scope of history. Ta-Ta.

Oh, man. Already this arc is revving up to be a whopper of an arc. I mean how can you beat a good ole fashioned Scwatch hunt? Answer: You can’t, so stop trying.

Super excited that this series is back to please our ocular orbs. I can almost feel the glossy paper between the tips of my fingers. Waiting seems as impossible as shifting the planes of Earth. What a diabolical thing time makes us do.

I make my way to the back. There stands a Christ like creature, something in opposition the the humans around him. My will begs for him to join me in my dance. He meets my gaze with tears in his eyes. I can tell now that he is not crying for himself. To my surprise, he takes my hand. For the first time in a millennium, I am uncertain of my choice.
