The sky heaves a heavy sigh. The stained clouds open, suddenly, trees are thrust sideways. They strain to align themselves with the wet ground. Thunder rolls over the mountain, filling every crevice with sound. An animal cries, hidden amongst the damp leaves blanketing the earth.

All New Inhumans #9 (Marvel)

James Asmus (W) Stefano Caselli (A)

I am not at all sold on the new writer of the series. Something about this series has always felt a little off for me. Not sure if a new writer is going to help things in that department.

Justice League #1 (DC)

Bryan Hitch (W) Tony S. Daniel (A)

I heard people rant and rave about the Rebirth issue, that being said, I was not entirely sold on the issue. Hopefully it gets better, we can only hope. Not everything can be perfect.

Dept. H #4 (Dark Horse)

Matt Kindt (W) Matt Kindt (A)

This series is really fun, but I am afraid that it may be getting stuck on its own story a little. Maybe that’s just in my head.

Aquaman #3 (DC)

Dan Abnett (W) Brad Walker (A)

I can see myself following this series for a while and inevitably dropping it. Which is unfortunate, but sometimes that’s the case. I’ve been wrong before though.

Astro City #37 (Vertigo)

Kurt Busiek (W) Brent Eric Anderson (A)

I’m excited about this one. Not only do we get more time with the mysterious character who opened up the new series, Broken Man, but we get a glimpse at the past of Astro City. I’m down on both counts.

spiderman deadpool 7

Spider-Man/Deadpool #7 (Marvel)

Gerry Duggan (W) Scott Koblish (A)

This series is great, so the only reason that this issue is so far down the list is because it is the second fill in issue in a row. That’s okay though, as long as the next arc is worth the wait. Which, I imagine, it most definitely will be.

Batman #3 (DC)

Tom King (W) David Finch (A)

Big reveal last issue, well, as big a reveal as is possible when everything gets spoiled on the internet. Either way, I’m excited to see where this goes.

Rumble #12 (Image)

John Arcudi (W) James Harren (A)

More punching and badassery? Why since you asked so nicely, sure!

Wolf #9 (Image)

Ales Kot (W) Lee Loughridge (A)

The end of the arc. Hopefully this all makes sense. Knowing Kot, probably not. Hey, I rhymed.

Hellblazer: Rebirth #1 (DC)

Oliver Simon (W) Moritat (A)

Super excited about this. I will break people if this lets me down. Just fair warning creative team. Honestly, with this creative team, I expect nothing less than the better…or best, whichever.

Divinity II #4 of 4 (Valiant)

Matt Kindt (W) Trevor Hairsine (A)

It’s almost over and I honestly cannot say how it will end. Thrilling. Seriously, Matt Kindt has won me over again. They’ve already released that there will be another sequel though, so I imagine nothing too drastic will happen.

Green Arrow #3 (DC)

Ben Percy (W) Juan Ferreyra (A)

This series has completely turned the characters on their heads and it’s literally only had two issues so far. I am absolutely thrilled with the team on this book. More, I beg of you, more.

Velvet #15 (Image)

Ed Brubaker (W) Steve Epting (A)

Oh, man! Will the answers Velvet has been seeking finally be revealed to her? I am super pumped, does this mean that the series is almost over? Probably not. I hope not.

Black Widow #5 (Marvel)

Chris Samnee & Mark Waid (W) Chris Samnee (A)

This comic is fucking awesome. Holy shit. I cannot tell you to read this comic enough. So, you know, go fucking read it,

Exodus: The Life After #6 (Oni Press)

Joshua Hale Fialkov (W) Gabo (A)

I keep expecting this comic to wrap up, not that I want it to, it’s just that it seems so close to a finale. Now it’s happening again. What lies in store for this comic? Who the fuck knows?

The windows rattle, the lights flicker. The wooden support beams of his porch sway, threatening a quick descent. He does not move. The fear pumping just below his flesh is the realest thing he has felt in months. Temptation gives way, he leans against the bannister, desperate to enhance something. What is this?
