Lots of great stuff to share with you Towelites from Hollywood today! We have trailers from the world of Legos, what made Shailene Woodley leave Amazing Spider-Man 2, and a Volcano that just wouldn’t quit. Check out the great stuff below!
First up, is a the film Divergent, which is based off the novel, where a girl who doesn’t fit into the dystopian society and is labeled “Divergent” by her people. The film stars Shailene Woodley, and it’s supposedly the reason she left/got kicked out of Amazing Spider-Man 2. It opens March 21st, 2014.
Paul W.S. Anderson is usually making Resident Evil films, but now he’s taking us to Greek times, with his film Pompeii. Lots of volcano action is seen, as Kit Harrington (Game of Thrones) has to try and face off against the man who had slaughtered his family. The movie opens February 21st, 2014.
The first Monsters film was pretty fantastic for a budget so low. Monsters: Dark Continent looks like it ups the production value. The teaser only shows a little, so I’ll reserve judgement til we see a full trailer.
Riddick is one of my most anticipated movies of the year, and this new TV spot is only getting me more pumped up about it. The movie opens September 6th, 2013.
Here’s a trailer for the new dramedy, Thanks for Sharing; starring Mark Ruffalo and Gwyneth Paltrow. The cast is pretty great and the movie is directed by the guy behind The Kids are Alright, Stuart Blumberg. Looks like it’ll be pretty great.
I love pretty much anything that the Coen Brothers do and I’m excited for their new one, Inside Llewyn. Not their usual film about someone stealing money and a bunch of people getting murdered, but it looks great none-the-less. It opens December 6th.
Finally, as much as I thought Star Trek Into Darkness was one of the best films this year, it still deserved to get the Honest Trailer treatment. The video below is pretty hilarious and spot on. J. J. sure does love his lens flare.
That’s it for this edition of Trailers Galore. Stay Tuned to DFAT for more of Hollywood’s greatest trailers!
