Tuesday Blus-day 930x300 slider

Hello all, and welcome to another week of great releases.

This week starts off with Argo, written, starring and directed by  Ben Affleck.  With movies such as Gone Baby Gone and The Town, on his directing resume, it was no surprise that this film has been critically acclaimed.  I didn’t get the chance to see this on the big screen, so I’ve been waiting for this release to get to finally see it.

Next in line is Anna Karenina, starring Keira Knightley and Jude Law.  This movie doesn’t seem like my type, so I never planned on watching it, but it received pretty good reviews, for those who are interested.

The only other new release includes Sinister (starring Ethan Hawke).

An list of “re-releases” onto Blu-Ray hits the shelves this week, including Monsters, Inc. (released in 3D), James Cameron’s remastered Terminator (starring Arnold Schwarzenegger),  Al Pacino and Russell Crowe in Michael Mann’s The Insider, as well as  Best in Show and The Running man.  Oh, and Top Gun 3D (starring Tom Cruise) – yes, you heard correctly… Top Gun… in 3D.

From the classics, we have the Criterion Collection blu-ray release of On the Waterfront starring Marlon Brando.

What makes this week special, to me at least, are the television releases.  First one being Battlestar Galactica: Blood & Chrome.  I cannot wait to see this one, as I was a huge fan of the recent show of its namesake (and consider it one of the greatest show’s I’ve seen).  This one had pretty great reviews, so it will be interesting seeing the story of how the war began.

And here we are ladies and gentlemen… highlight of the week.  HBO‘s Game of Thrones Season 2.  The books are amazing, and both season 1 and 2 were excellently produced to not only keep to the books, but to be amazing in its own self as well.  I can’t wait to get my hands on this one for yet another views, in preparation to next months premier of Season 3.

Game of Thrones S2

Guess that’s it for the week.  Until next time.
