Hey Towelites,

For as good as a selection as all the movies are in the movie theaters, there is not much going for bluray and dvd releases. Today, we do have a few gems, including stuff from Wes Anderson, Scream Factory Films, and Stephen Chow. Check them out below!

Journey to the West is Stephen Chow’s newest film, and amongst his best. Chaz had the chance to review the film, which you can see HERE. He loved the fantasy/action film and we’ve been awaiting the bluray release since then. You can finally get your hands on it now!

Next, the original How To Train Your Dragon was one of the best animated films of 2010, and though it was out on bluray before, it’s getting a re-release because of the upcoming sequel. The Dreamworks film just works as a fantasy-adventure movie, and in this crisper copy of the first release, it looks even more stunning to see Hiccup and Toothless soar through the skies.

Today we are also seeing an amazing Criterion Collection for The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou.  Another great movie from Wes Anderson, if you news this film, you know how amazing it is.  If not, then this is the perfect thing to get.

The 80s were filled to the brim with slashers with clawed gloves, hockey masks, and pumpkins. Amongst those famous films, we were introduced to Sleepaway Camp. Another great slasher fest that spawned a ton of sequels, which I’ve actually enjoyed throughout the years. The fantastic people at Scream Factory are releasing the film in bluray for the first time, and I can’t wait to get my hands on it!

Finally, is Doctor Who: An Adventure in Space and Time.  A sort of drama-documentary, you get to find out the origins of the awesome Doctor Who; so if you’re a fan, you definitely need this.

That’s it for the week.  See you next Tuesday.
