Honestly, I didn’t even know they were still making these movies. I mean, I kinda did. I knew that Jean Claude Van Damme and Dolph Lundgren had reunited in 2009 for Universal Soldier: Regeneration; but I had no idea that that movie garnered another sequel. I guess the success of them both being in Expendables 2 really helped boost their street cred. Whatever the case, Universal Soldier: Reckoning is coming back with a vengeance!

Here’s a synopsis.

John (Adkins, The Expendables 2) wakes up from a coma to discover his wife and daughter were slaughtered in a brutal home invasion. Haunted by images of the attack, he vows to kill the man responsible, Luc Deveraux (Van Damme). While John tries to piece his reality back together, things get more complicated when he is pursued by a relentless UniSol (Arlovski). As John gets closer to Deveraux and the rouge army of genetically enhanced warriors led by back-from-the-dead leader Andrew Scott (Lundgren), John discovers more about himself and begins to call into question everything he believed to be true.

Ok, so yeah. Anywho, the trailer looks good enough for me to maybe go revisit the series, because I really don’t ‘mind crappy action movies, and they usually end up being better than crappy horror movies. Plus, JCVD and Lundgren don’t often disappoint me.  Check out the trailer!

Universal Soldier: Reckoning will be On Demand October 25th  and hit a small amount of theaters in D.C. November 30th through Magnet Releasing.
