Atman Binstock, formerly a member of the Valve Virtual Reality project, has joined the Seattle-based Oculus team and will begin to recruit engineers to help develop the Virtual Reality headset.
Binstock, in addition to working at Valve, also worked DICE, Intel and RAD Game tools and served as lead designer for Q-Games’ Pixeljunk: Racers.
The Oculus Rift is expected to become available for consumers sometime in late 2014 or early 2015. The headset came about as a result of a very successful Kickstarter campaign in August of 2012, which yielded nearly $2.5 million by its conclusion.
