It seems that Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman have their eyes set on another big properties to add to their already growing list of supernatural titles with The Wolfman, Mummy, Dracula, and Frankenstein. The duo is teaming up with Universal to bring more of The Vampire Chronicles to life.

annericeThe deal that was struck at Universal in collaboration with Brian Grazer and Imagine Entertainment, was to get adaptation of all of the Anne Rice novels. One of the first will be an adaptation of The Tale of the Body Thief, whose screenplay is currently being written by Rice’s son, Christopher.

We’ve already seen some of the best from the Chronicles with Interview With a Vampire, as well as the worst, with Queen of the Damned. Given that these are some of my favorite books of all time, I really hope that we can get some more faithful adaptations. Interview is one of the best vampire movies ever, and with a new Lestat DeLioncourt book, called Prince Lestat, due out this October from Rice, this is the perfect time for this deal.

What do you think of The Vampire Chronicles making their way to Universal? Sound off in the comments!
