This is another abysmmal weekend at the box office. The Top Ten had one of the lowest opening weekends all year. The Top Three all are battling for first within a few thousand dollars. End of Watch, House at the End of the Street, and Trouble With the Curve all battled for 13million this weekend. Yes, 13 million! Jennifer Lawrence in a tank top running around couldn’t even garner 20mil. Not to mention, the marketed-out-the-wazoo Dredd 3D, which didn’t even top 7mil. Which is really too bad, because other than The Master and Resident Evil, it’s the only movie that I want to see at the box office right now. Next week comes Looper (which looks great) and Hotel Transylvania (which I also think looks just fantastic). I think we can pretty much all guess which will win with Halloween on the brain of everyone, or at least this writer.
