The Saw franchise hasn’t had an entry since 2010, but it seems that horror fans were ready to return to see what Jigsaw had up his sleeve in the newest installment. The film debuted in 1st place with $16.3 million based off of a budget of around $20 million. Looks like there’s still life in this series yet. This debut also dethroned last week’s winner Boo 2! A Madea Halloween; which took the 2nd spot with $10 million.

The other primaries of the week did pretty horrid. Thank You for Your Service and Suburbicon took the 6th and 9th place spots on the Top Ten, earning $3.7 and $2.8 million respectively. What’s really crazy its that IT is still on the Top Ten and took in another $2.5 million, making it’s domestic stand at over $330 million and $666 million worldwide. Spooky.
