Marvel has done it again. With it’s so-called “second tier” superhero, Thor: The Dark World comes in to premiere at #1 with more than $86mil in revenue! This puts it well above it’s first solo outing, and easily beat out it’s competition. It made more money than the rest of the Top 10 COMBINED!
In a post-Avengers world, you have to expect that their solo movies won’t make as much as all of the team members together; but with Iron Man 3 bringing in $1.2 Billion and now Thor 2 having a it’s total over $300 mil with Domestic and International totals; its nothing to scoff at. It certainly solidifies that Marvel knows what it’s doing, compared to DC.
