I’ll fully admit that I don’t really know anything about the Fifty Shades of Kink series. I started to read the first book when it came out to see what all of the hype was about and couldn’t make it through half of it. I get it, I’m not the core audience for it. That being said, the movies have made almost $1 Billion dollars at the Box Office; so there’s got to be SOMETHING good about them. Over in the States the newest film, Fifty Shades Freed, debuted at #1 with $38.8 million. Fine. Overseas, the film took in $98 million and brought it’s Worldwide Total to $136 million. Given that the budget was only $55 million; I’d say they have another hit on their hands…at least until this upcoming weekend.

The other debuts this weekend were Peter Rabbit and The 15:17 to Paris which debuted in the 2nd and 3rd spots respectively. While, I have no desire to see either movie; I was surprised to find out that Clint Eastwood directed 15:17. I don’t even think I saw a preview for this movie. Who is still giving him money to direct? Any way, check out the rest of the Top Five below.

 1. ‘Fifty Shades Freed’
$38,806,000

2. ’Peter Rabbit’
$25,000,000

3. ‘The 15:17 to Paris’
$12,600,000

4. ‘Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle’
$9,825,000

5. ‘The Greatest Showman’
$6,400,000

Next weekend, we finally have the premiere of Black Panther. The film is tracking to earn over $120 million on its debut. This estimate seems low as it’s already outpaced every film ever in pre-sale tickets AND it’s a Holiday weekend. I’m going for $150 million; but you can see if I’m right in the next edition of Weekend Roundup!
