Oh the Avengers. What started off with an experiment in story-telling over 10 years ago, has now become a colossal and successful cinematic universe the kind of which we’ve never experienced before. Avengers: Endgame was the culmination of 22 films spanning time, space, and everything in between. The movie was one of the greatest things I’ve ever seen in a theatre and otherwise and I’m not the only one who agrees judging by the Box Office numbers below.
The film shattered records by earning $350 million domestically and already over $1.2 BILLION Worldwide. This puts it on pace to destroy all other records, but the biggest would be to take down the James Cameron films of Titanic ($2.1B) and Avatar ($2.7B). It’ll be a tall order, but one that I feel if anyone was gonna do it, it would be The Avengers. The rest of the Top Ten are below.
1. Avengers: Endgame $350,000,000
2. Captain Marvel $8,051,000
3. The Curse of La Llorona $7,500,000
4. Breakthrough $6,304,000
5. Shazam! $5,520,000
6. Little $3,438,000
7. Dumbo $3,239,000
8. Pet Sematary $1,290,000
9. Us $1,141,000
10. Penguins (Disneynature) $1,051,000
Next week, we have the releases of The Intruders and the Ugly Dolls movie. Both won’t even come close to competing against the Avengers juggernaut, but stay tooned to just find out what happens on the next edition of Weekend Roundup.
