Disney continues to steamroll all of it’s competition yet again as The Jungle Book took #1 at the Box Office for the third weekend in a row. The film took in another $42.4mil bringing it’s domestic total to $252mil and over $684mil worldwide. Given that Zootopia is in the Top Ten as well, that’s two films that Disney has that have grossed close to $1billion dollars.

The three premieres this weekend were Keanu, Mother’s Day, and Ratchet and Clank. They took 3rd, 4th, and 7th places respectively. Their combined total was less than half of what The Jungle Book book and proved that no other studio should even try and compete with Disney this year. The rest of the Top Ten numbers are below.

1. The Jungle Book – $42.4 million

2. The Huntsman: Winter’s War – $9.39 million

3. Keanu – $9.35 million

4. Mother’s Day – $8.3 million

5. Barbershop: The Next Cut – $6.1 million

6. Zootopia – $5 million

7. Ratchet and Clank – $4.8 million

8. The Boss – $4.2 million

9. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice – $3.8 million

10. Criminal – $1.3 million

Next weekend, another Disney film will make its debut, Captain America: Civil War. The movie has already grossed more than $200mil worldwide and it still hasn’t made it’s way to the US, China, or Russia. The film is on track to bring in over $190mil on it’s opening weekend, but you’ll have to wait until the next edition of Weekend Roundup to see if that happens.
