James Wan has been scaring the crap out of us since the Saw films and with the first Conjuring film, he presented us with one of the best horror films of all-time. Looks like lightning could strike twice, because The Conjuring 2 picks up where the last film left us and continues to capture the love from audiences as it took #1 at the Box Office over this past weekend.

The film took in $40.4mil and put itself far above the other premieres of Warcraft and Now You See Me 2; which earned $24.4mil and $23mil respectively. It should be noted that Warcraft didn’t happen to be such a hit in the States, but it did take in $156mil in 5 days over in China; making it the biggest opening of a foreign film in all-time. You can see the rest of the Top Ten below.

1. The Conjuring 2 $40.4 million

2. Warcraft $24.4 million

3. Now You See Me 2 $23 million

4. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows $14.8 million

5. X-Men: Apocalypse $10 million

6. Me Before You $9.2 million

7. The Angry Birds Movie $6.7 million

8. Alice Through the Looking Glass $5.5 million

9. Captain America: Civil War $4.3 million

10. The Jungle Book $2.7 million

Next weekend, the Mouse House is back with another big film, Finding Dory. It’s battling off Central Intelligence starring The Rock and Kevin Hart. Though the latter looks more fun, I’m pretty sure Disney has another huge hit on it’s hands with this animated feature. Find out if I’m right in the next edition of Weekend Roundup.
